Stranger Things Season 2 Teaser Photo | 00:54 | English

Check out this clip of some of the kid actors from Stranger Things as they spend 30 seconds talking about the show. The teaser for the second season of Stranger Things will air on Fox during the 51st Super Bowl.

My Thoughts
Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive photo from the teaser, which will air during Super Bowl LI. The image shows Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) dressed up as the Ghostbusters. Judging by the boys’ outfits and the school’s decorations in the image, at least part of Stranger Things will take place on Halloween. What will the residents of Hawkins, Indiana, encounter on the spookiest night of the year?

The Duffer Brothers (aka Matt and Ross) revealed most of the cast from season 1 will return in season 2. There will also be several new characters as well, including Bob Newby (Sean Astin), Roman (Linnea Berthelsen), Billy (Dacre Montgomery), Dr. Owens (Paul Reiser), and Max (Sadie Sink)..

A weather forecast appeared on the official Stranger Things Twitter as a hint to the Super Bowl teaser. I like the retro feel of it. If you didn’t notice, the forecast for Sunday has a low of -11 and a high of 11. Does that mean Eleven will return this season? I hope the -11 doesn’t hint that something negative is in store for her!

I hope Eleven does come back. She could be stuck in some alternate reality after the events of last season. I also thought she might reappear as a clone. However, Eleven’s name seems to imply she wasn’t the first child in her situation. If that’s true, why would the people behind her existence start making clones of her? Why not just find a woman who can give them Twelve? Elven had extraordinary powers, so it would make sense for them to want to have more than one of her. Another thought is, they might want to keep experimenting to see what kind of improvements they could make on Eleven. This situation could also depend on the growth time of a clone versus that of a fetus.

To get back on topic … The Duffer Brothers (aka Matt and Ross) hinted Eleven might not appear this season. In that same article, they also said there will be four new characters as well. However, according to Khal of Complex, and some members of Twitter, the temperatures and barometric pressure are possibly a puzzle to the release date of season 2: 9 / 8 / 17 (September 8, 2017).

Season 2 of Stranger Things is set in 1984, one year after last season. It will be released on Netflix in 2017.
